Ruwad Muscat International School, being an IB Continuum School, has Middle Years Programme (MYP), for grades 7 to 10, is a crucial transition area where the inquiry-based and creative approach of primary education are cultivated into deeper academic and technical knowledge, skills and understanding.
This phase is defined by conceptual understanding and Inter-disciplinary learning skills, with students being challenged to use their knowledge from across eight distinct subject groups in real and complex world problems. The incorporation of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills of advanced research, self-management and critical thinking ensures our students progress beyond rote memorisation to become independent and innovative problem-solvers.
The culmination of this journey is the Grade 10 Personal Project, a year-long, student-led inquiry into a topic of deep personal interest.
In this milestone, students will demonstrate the agency and resilience they will need to take on the challenge of the Diploma Programme (DP) or GED and will present a meaningful project that they created from start to finish. In our ongoing framework, the MYP cultivates the global mindset which prepares students for the pre-university examinations and equips them to live in and contribute to our increasingly digital and connected world.
