Dr Terry Storer School Director

Dear Ruwad Muscat International School Community,

My name is Dr Terry Storer and I have the privilege to serve as Director of Ruwad Muscat International School. Being one of the IB Continuum Schools, from Primary Years Programme (PYP) to the Diploma or GED in grades 11 and 12, we believe that education is not something done to the student, but a quest that the student undertakes. Our objective is beyond the classroom; our aim is to prepare students for the world. By creating students empowered through inquiry, we inevitably produce confident leaders that Oman and the world need tomorrow.

“Education is not something done to a student, but a journey driven by them.”

A Student-Centred Learning Environment

At Ruwad Muscat, classrooms are dynamic hubs of Inquiry-Based Learning, where teachers act as facilitators rather than lecturers. By placing students at the centre, we:

  • Encourage Agency : We empower learners to make choices, take risks, and pursue their passions.
  • Foster Critical Thinking : Students move beyond rote memorisation to analyse, evaluate, and solve complex, real-world problems.
  • Personalise Growth : Recognising that every student has their own way of learning, we make sure that every student feels both encouraged and challenged.

As an IB Continuum School, our curriculum is focused on empowerment. Starting from Primary Years and up to the Diploma Programme, we create conditions that promote critical thinking and confidence in students, thus converting them into prominent leaders.

Cultivating Global Citizens

As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, our objectives shifts far beyond the constraints of academic excellence. We aim to establish Global Citizens that act with understanding and compassion. The underpinnings of their education come from the notion of international-mindedness:

  • Value Diversity:We celebrate the diverse perspectives as a bridge to understanding the world.
  • Take Principled Action:Our curriculum empowers students to take initiative in order to create a better and more sustainable world.
  • Communicate Across Borders:We help them acquire new languages and participate in collaborative project activities, getting the necessary skill to live in the modern global society.

We aim to raise young people who are not only suited for getting into university but also those who are prepared to take the challenges life offers — equipped with the resilience and compassion needed to lead in the 21st century.

“I look forward to welcoming you to Ruwad Muscat and working alongside you as we support your children in becoming the future leaders Oman and our world needs.”

Warm regards,

Dr Terry Storer School Director — Ruwad Muscat International School
