Our school’s field trips reflect the IB emphasis on inquiry-based learning, from our local museums, historical places, and cultural institutions to our innovation hubs and nature reserves.
The excursions chosen with such great care allow children to have more than a new view of the world around them, giving them a chance to experience and learn first-hand from their journeys. These education-based tours allow children to become adventurers who can apply their theoretical knowledge to practical situations right away. From discovering the biodiversity of a natural preserve to analysing the artifacts of a heritage site, children learn to seek the answers to the “why” and “how” of the subjects of their studies and to think critically about the information they learn.
Long-term camps and residential excursions require students to step outside their comfort zones and learn how to rely on themselves while developing the skill of solving various problems as a team in a multicultural environment. These expeditions allow students and their educators to interact strongly in a non-educational environment; hence a culture of respect and empathy develops. By highlighting the importance of experiential experiences, we make sure our students obtain the necessary social qualities and outlook on life as future leaders in the modern world.
